Curamericas Global Welcomes New Administrative Intern

Matthews native, Rebecca Rushing, has been accepted as an administrative intern at Curamericas Global. Curamericas is a Raleigh-based charity organization dedicated to saving the lives of women and children in underserved communities across the globe.

As an administrative intern, Rushing is responsible for assisting all of the organization’s departments. Some of her responsibilities include drafting tax receipts for donors, maintaining records, assisting with travel arrangements, and assisting with general office tasks. Of all her responsibilities, Rushing most enjoys writing “thank you” notes to donors.

“In each card, we include a photo of members of the communities we serve, and those smiling faces are a reminder as to why I am in this line of work,” said Rushing. “Knowing that these photos are of real people who are feeling the impact of the work being done at Curamericas only pushes me to work harder to ensure they get the help they need.”

Rushing is currently majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Global Relations at North Carolina State University. She hopes to work internationally to serve people in need and is planning to spend some time teaching English in Southeast Asia and South America. Rushing hopes that her work at Curamericas will help to create sustainable programs benefitting the health of women and children worldwide.
