Women Philanthropists celebrate Mother’s Day and the spirit of giving at our annual Curamericas Global’s Mother-Daughter Tea event!
Posted: June 9, 2016

On Saturday, May 14th, women from across North Carolina came together at Curamericas Global’s Mother-Daughter Tea in Fayetteville. Together, these committed philanthropists raised over $4,600 to provide health services and education for mothers and children living in impoverished communities around the world. The generosity of the attendees and event sponsors supported families who do not have access to basic medical care, including many who live in locations where the nearest hospital is hours away.

While enjoying delicious tea and treats, our guests joined Curamericas in recognizing mothers around the globe who endure heartbreaking experiences, unable to provide for their family because of extreme poverty and lack of resources. Learning about how mothers half a world away suffer from preventable illnesses during pregnancy and childbirth, opened their hearts and minds to recognize and  celebrate these mothers who are determined to improve the health of their families and their communities.

Items generously donated by businesses in  Fayetteville as well as handmade items from communities in Guatemala, Bolivia and Africa were auctioned to raise the funds that will continue to support Curamericas Global’s life-saving work.  The spirit of giving, delicious tea, treats, and a photo booth by Broken Crayon Photography were among the afternoon’s highlights at this special event.

By addressing maternal healthcare needs, we can build a world with equal opportunities for all – a world where every mother and child can live, and be loved and valued. Curamericas Global is honored to partner with such hard-working and dedicated women in Latin America and Africa and we thank the equally inspiring donors who joined us in helping to provide health services where there are none.
