Karen Todd, MD, FAAP
Karen has been a practicing pediatrician in Cary, NC for 22 years. She has recently returned to school at UNC Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health to pursue her Masters in Public Health Leadership. Through the Medical Ministry at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC, Karen has the opportunity to serve the people of Las Margaritas II, in the Ixcan province in Northwestern Guatemala. During those transformative experiences, she realized that her future in medicine needed to be combined with public health service. While at UNC to pursue her MPH degree, she met Andrew Herrera (Executive Director) who introduced her to Curamericas Global.
Karen is transitioning out of private practice and has started working as a child medical examiner with SAFEchild, a nonprofit in Raleigh, NC dedicated to the health and well being of neglected and/or abused children. She is committed to advancing the health of children here and around the world.
