3rd Annual Mother’s Day Tea

We raised money and friends for our 3rd annual Mother’s Day Tea in Fayetteville.

Every day is mother’s day at Curamericas Global

Dressed in white gloves and hats, local mothers and daughters from across the Fayetteville-area sipped on tea and eat scrumptious desserts to honor special women in their lives this Mother’s Day.  However, this was no ordinary Mother’s Day tea, these mothers and daughters have a bigger mission: to support mothers and children in high-need communities around the globe.  Together, with Raleigh-based global nonprofit, Curamericas Global, women raised money to provide healthcare-related services and education for mothers and children who do not have access to basic medical care and live in remote locations where the nearest hospital can be hours away.

One highlight was the silent auction that included paintings and hand made items from the places we work. People got gifts for their loved ones and supported women’s businesses as well as donated to Curamericas Global! Another highlight was the photobooth. Check out the great photos here!

Our special guest:

For Mother’s Day, we had a special guest present to the group. Elizabeth Bronwyn Barricklow is a gifted writer, instructional designer, and program developer whose work has touched almost every continent on earth. Her early career included independent volunteer work in Ghana, Mexico, and Panama. For three years following that, Elizabeth worked with Curamericas Global developing volunteer programs in Guatemala, Bolivia, and Liberia. In 2011, Elizabeth became a founding team member of Versado Training and Versado Foundation. These past seven years Elizabeth’s work with Versado Training has focused on professional training design for some of the world’s most innovative companies. She has implemented programs around the world, most notably in Dubai, Singapore, Western Europe, and throughout the U.S. Versado Training has been recognized as one of Inc Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Companies, the Triangle Business Journal’s Family Businesses of the Year, and Business NC’s Best Employers. Elizabeth is originally from Michigan, and now splits time between Chicago and the mountains of North Carolina. She is currently writing a travel memoir of her volunteer adventures in Ghana.
