One of the hallmarks of Curamericas’ work is our ability to help combine specialized expertise and programming with a more person- and community- centered approach. Working hand-in-hand with local partners, Curamericas has helped over 350,000 people in countries across the globe since 1983. Our nearly 30 years of service is testimony to the great work we are accomplishing. |
Our Work
Our CDC-funded HIV prevention project in Haiti is also in its final year through our new partnership with the Haitian Ministry of Health. This project provides HIV education and prevention services to more than 20,000 Haitian women and men. As part of this project, we test for sexually transmitted infections and provide HIV testing for women and men, including women who are pregnant. Behavior change communication (BCC) is a large component of the project, educating adult men and women about ways to prevent transmission, as well as encouraging pre-teens to participate in events that promote HIV prevention through abstinence. For more information about our work in Haiti, please contact Bakary Sidibe, Senior Program Manager, toll-free at (877) 510-4787 or via email at bakary@curamericas.org. |
