HIV Training in Guatemala (Curamericas Global & UMC Global AIDS Fund)
Funded by the United Methodist Church Global AIDS Fund, Curamericas Global implemented an HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention program targeting indigenous Mayan communities in the Guatemala highlands where the native language is "Chuj". The project involved training of six health educators who learned to use culturally-appropriate health messages to promote HIV prevention through abstinence, faithfulness, and condom use.
